The best kept secret in thrifting in New York is in Woodlawn! Unique, affordable, charitable Bronx thrift store. Treasures, bargains, quality and charm abound. The Shop is located at 435 E. 238th Street between Martha and Vireo Avenues. Great public transportation options, limited free street parking, and meter parking is widely available on McLean Ave.

Our Mission

Since 1994, The mission of St. Stephen’s Thrift Shop is to provide the Woodlawn community with a quality affordable shopping option, to reduce waste and reuse items thoughtfully, and to support the mission and works of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in our neighborhood.

Donating your Clothing & Home Goods to St. Stephen’s Woodlawn

Redecorating, decluttering or downsizing your home? Do you have clothing that no longer fits or isn’t your style you’d like to give away to a proven effective charity? Donations of gently used and clean goods are gratefully accepted on site during business hours. Please do not leave goods on the property after hours.

Food Pantry Donations

You can drop donations of shelf stable goods at the Shop to support Christ Church Riverdale’s Food Pantry.

Getting Help From Us

We have a Community Shopping Voucher Program to help people in need with free clothing, household goods, and items for enjoyment such as books, music, games, toys, jewelry and holiday decorations.

Churches & Nonprofits: to gift someone a voucher, we ask you to complete a Voucher assistance request: https://bit.ly/ThriftShopVoucher Our staff will verify requests before sending you a voucher.

Direct requests from individuals without a referral will be required to show current need such as a receipt of Public Assistance (PA), SNAP, or NYS Unemployment Benefits to receive a one-time voucher.
